Stomp is one of my favorite groups that there are out there. They use different objects around them to make music such as broomsticks, pans, garbage cans, and many more. Most of the music is in a percussive manner and really shows how to use everyday items and turn them into music.

I have seen Stomp twice now and let me tell you, it is a one in a lifetime experience. Within the first few minutes of the musical, you are immediately in the zone of the music. From the first instruments that you hear, new ideas, images, and music comes into your mind. If Stomp used the same instruments that you hear on the radio, I still feel like it would be about the same. It is amazing the music that they make through their use of household items. The pounding of the drums sounds so much better when you hear it from that old pail in your house. The use of these new items make for an upbeat, lifting, non-boring experience.

I would say though, after a while, you will start to realize that most of their songs work around the same beat. I believe that the musical is easy for people to relate to though using the standard beat and the 4/4 time. Stomp has something so great going for them to where the Musical will be something unforgettable for you to see. I believe they will continue to grow and add new melodies and instruments to their lineup.

There are other groups that started before Stomp that had the same sort of noise that made music. Some used drills, chainsaws, the radio, and others to use random sounds throughout their songs. These bands though did not keep a crowd tuned in and they ended up going by the waist side. The same types of songs do play throughout the musical, but overall, Stomp will capture you and make you a believer and a lifelong fan.

Since Stomp seems to be more structured, their following has a wide base. The musical will take you into the living room of where the music is being made and give you an entire different outlook on music in your home. The next time you arrive in your kitchen, you just might think of that household broom in a different way. Stomp the musical is a must see and will be a new standard of musicals for here on out.
